On the label X Vitamin Cream Mask

By looking at the individual parts that make up a whole, we gain greater understanding and appreciation, which is why we love shining a spotlight on the superhero ingredients that make up our Joyce Blok products.

In this week’s ‘On The Label’, we examine three key ingredients found in our Vitamin Cream Mask and learn of their beautiful botanical origins. In stark contrast to a dry clay mask, the Vitamin Cream Mask is deeply nourishing and leaves skin healthy, hydrated and healed.

  • Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract - The botanical name for the marigold flower is Calendula, from the Latin calendae, the first day of the month because marigolds can be found flowering every month of the year. Exactly the effect it has in skincare as it promotes healthy, flourishing skin all year round! Marigold has been praised as a remedy for every possible injury to the skin. Wound healing is improved, inflammation subsides, and susceptibility to inflammation is decreased. Calendula extract accelerates the growth of new skin cells and tissue, accounting for speedier wound healing. Its anti-inflammatory properties are both soothing and protective.
  • Wheat Germ Oil - Wheat germ oil is derived from the golden heart, or germ, of wheat grain. The oil is packed with nutrients and rich in vitamin E and polyunsaturated fatty acids (the good ones!). It provides emollient properties that aid in soothing and moisturising dry skin - helped further by vitamin E, which softens and improves texture. It also contains natural enzymes and extracts which help stimulate skin healing.
  • Horse Chestnut - The seeds of the Horse Chestnut Tree (Aesculus Hippocastanum) carry a clever group of compounds called aescin, which are made from the glycosides of saponins. The saponins are potent anti-inflammatory compounds and produce a gentle soap that promotes skin softening. Aescin also contains a powerful antioxidant called Proanthocyanidins which play a vital role in stabilising collagen and elastin in the skin.

How to use our Vitamin Skin Cream Mask

After cleansing and exfoliating, apply to the face and neck. Leave to work for 15 minutes. Gently remove. Follow with the appropriate tonic lotion and moisturiser. Use once or twice weekly. Or wear as a sleep mask for an overnight boost.

We can’t wait for you to try our Vitamin Skin Cream Mask and take your skincare to the next level with a considered blend of botanical ingredients, all working together for softer, smoother, more supple skin.
